As part of the policy to liberalise the telecommunications sector in Guinea-Bissau, begun by the promulgation of a liberalising law-decree on 20 August 1999, the Guinea-Bissau Communications Institute (ICGB) has decided to launch an international call for tenders for the grant of a licence to build and operate a GSM-standard cellular telephony network.

A tender file will be made available to interested investors from 18 August 2003, in return for payment of a non-refundable, flat-fee sum of 1,320,000 CFA francs (2,000 euros).

The tender file may be collected, or requested by fax or e-mail, from the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Board of the Guinea-Bissau Communications Institute or from Mr Rémy Fekete of the law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel, following deposit of the required sum into the Institute's account n°1/002049/01.0010 at "Banco da África Ocidental (BAO)", Bissau, Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
