INVITATION TO TENDER
FOR THE GRANT OF
A GSM-STANDARD CELLULAR LICENCE
As part of the policy to liberalise the telecommunications sector in
Guinea-Bissau, begun by the promulgation of a liberalising law-decree on 20
August 1999, the Guinea-Bissau Communications Institute (ICGB) has decided to
launch an international call for tenders for the grant of a licence to build and
operate a GSM-standard cellular telephony network.
A tender file will be made available to interested investors from 18 August
2003, in return for payment of a non-refundable, flat-fee sum of 1,320,000 CFA
francs (2,000 euros).
The tender file may be collected, or requested by fax or e-mail, from the
Secretariat of the Chairman of the Board of the Guinea-Bissau Communications
Institute or from Mr Rémy Fekete of the law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel, following
deposit of the required sum into the Institute's account n°1/002049/01.0010 at "Banco
da África Ocidental (BAO)", Bissau, Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
The deadline for submission of application is 17 October 2003.
